LatAm smartphone market plunges 21% in Q1 - study

Thursday 4 June 2020 | 11:11 CET | News
Latin America's smartphone market slumped 20.8 percent year on year and 30.1 percent sequentially in the first quarter of 2020, according to the latest data released by Counterpoint. Although Q1 shipments are typically slow in the region due to the summer recess in the Southern hemisphere, the impact of Covid-19 prompted a drastic drop in the smartphone market and served to expose the relatively low penetration of online sales in the region, said the researcher.
