LatAm SVoD subs to nearly double to 81 mln by 2025 - study

Monday 16 March 2020 | 16:18 CET | News
The Latin American subscription video on demand (SVoD) market is set to continue bucking the region's recession to grow from 42 million subscriptions at the end of 2019 to 81 million by 2025, according to the latest update from Digital TV Research. The launch of Disney+ and Apple TV+ will serve to consolidate the domination of US-based platforms, with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and HBO alone already accounting for 85 percent of the region's paying subscriptions in 2019, rising to 88 percent in 2025 with the addition of the new players.
