Latin America to reach 500 mln LTE lines in 2022

The number of mobile lines connected via LTE-4G technology in Latin America rose to 306 million at the end of the first quarter of 2019, accounting for over 44 percent of the total of 698 million active lines, according to a study by Ovum for industry association 5G Americas. The result remains below the global average of 51 percent and is around half North America's rate of 87 percent but is a significant advance compared to the previous year, said the report.
