Leaseweb expands CDN services

Tuesday 13 February 2018 | 16:13 CET | News

Leaseweb announced the launch of its multi-Content Delivery Network (CDN) and private CDN. The cloud infrastructure service provider said it has significantly expanded its worldwide CDN services, reaching new markets in South America, Asia Pacific and Russia. Leaseweb has also added new features for its customers in the entertainment and e-commerce industries.

Multi-CDNs bring together several content networks, allowing publishers to scale up their overall capacity or expand their global reach by adding POPs to the network where a single CDN may not have coverage. Leaseweb's multi-CDN service comes with a single control panel. This helps internet companies overcome the management and cost issues of running multiple CDNs simultaneously or the complexity of manual configuration, the company said.

In addition to the multi-CDN offering, Leaseweb is offering the possibility of integrating a managed private CDN. The dedicated implementation targets customers owning a large infrastructure already and looking for a hybrid solution of public and private networks via one self-service customer portal. They gain access to personalized configuration, unified reporting and extensive security functionality.
