Lebara scraps Chippie brand to focus on own

Friday 5 November 2010 | 10:00 CET | News
Ethnic MVNO Lebara is getting rid of its Chippie brand. Lebara bought Chippe in May with the idea of bringing the brand into second place behind the Lebara brand. Lebara has now changed course, saying it will scrap Chippie operations and focus on its own, Mobile News reported. All Chippie Sim cards and prepaid balances will be honoured until the end of the year, after which customers will be transferred to the Lebara network. Customers will be able to opt out if they do not wish to move to Lebara.
