Lenovo opens mobile production plant

Lenovo has opened a new mobile phone production site in Xiamen, the People's Daily reports. The site has a production capacity of 15-30 million phones per year. At peak capacity, it would surpass Bird's annual output of 20 million to become the largest producer in China. The industrial park includes research and development, production, logistics, distribution and after-service, while the company is also working to establish suppliers on-site. The Xiamen local government contributed to financing for the facility.
