Lenovo server shipments lower in 2015

Lenovo's server shipments decreased over 20 percent year-on-year in 2015 despite the acquisition of IBM's server business, writes Digitimes citing sources from the upstream supply chain. The company is pushing aggressively to land data centre orders from clients such as Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent and expects to see server shipments go up 40 percent year-on-year to 1 million servers in 2016. Lenovo saw its combined shipments in 2015 decrease versus 2014, sources aid. Combined shipments of Lenovo and IBM were down 22-27 percent year-on-year to 650,000-700,000, according to Digitimes Research's
