
Lenovo unveils smart TV running Android 4.0

Lenovo has unveiled a range of new products at the CES in Las Vegas, including the first TV to run Android 4.0. Powered by Qualcomm's 8060 Snapdragon dual-core CPU, the K91 is a smart TV integrating video-on-demand, internet and traditional TV programming. It offers an online history of the user's VoD viewing, access to the Android Market and Lenovo Store for games, apps and other content, and comes with 3D FPR technology for flicker-free video on a full HD IPS panel at 240hz with SRS TruSurround. Additional smart TV features include voice control with natural language processing and speech recognition technology, as well as apps to control the TV from a smartphone or tablet. Video interaction is also possible with the built-in 5MP webcam, which integrates face recognition technology for security benefits and parental control. Lenovo also announced the IdeaTab S2 10-inch tablet. Measuring just one-third of an inch thin and 1.1 pounds, the tablet features the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8960 dual core CPU and Android 4.0. Also running a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and Android 2.3 is the S2 smartphone. The phone features a unique Kernel-level security system to protect personal data, prevent phishing, and control network and SMS traffic. It also comes with an 8MP camera and cloud services for online storage. The TV, tablet and smartphone are available immediately in China and will be released worldwide at a later date.
