LG adopts Infineon chip for 3D facial recognition on G8 smartphone

LG Electronics announced that it's worked with Infineon Technologies to introduce a new type of 3D facial recognition on its upcoming G8 ThinQ smartphones. Infineon's REAL3 image sensor chip will play a key role in the front-facing camera of the phone, creating a new method of biometric identification to unlock the device.
