LG beats Apple with 13% share in US smartphone market

LG Electronics has regained its spot as number two in the US handset market in December 2012, on brisk sales of its latest smartphones, reports The Yonhap News Agency citing Counterpoint Research. Mobile phones by LG Electronics recorded a share of 13 percent in December 2012 in the US, beating Apple with 12 percent. The top position was retained by Samsung Electronics with 33 percent. LG's Optimus G and its other latest smartphones gained popularity in the North American market, an official from LG Electronics said.
