LG Electronics unveils quad-core Optimus G smartphone
LG Electronics unveiled its new quad-core smartphone, the Optimus G. The company said this will be the first LTE device featuring Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor and lay the foundation for its future premium smartphones. In addition to the 1.5GHz processor, the Optimus G comes with the Adreno 320 GPU and features Asynchronous Symmetric Multiprocessing (aSMP), which enables each core to power up and down independently, for maximum performance with better battery life. The handset features a 4.7-inch WXGA True HD IPS+ Display with 320ppi high pixel density (1280x768) and 15:9 aspect ratio. It comes with a 2,100mAh battery, 13.0MP camera, Dual Screen Dual Play to mirror the screen on a TV or present one image on the handset and another on the TV, QMemo to write and draw on the screen, NFC and DLNA. NTT Docomo will launch the phone first in Japan, and a global version of the device will launch in Korea in September, followed by other markets worldwide.
