LG fined in Russia for controlling smartphone prices

Russian federal competition watchdog FAS has fined the local branch of LG Electronics for charging inflated rates for smartphones, reports Cnews.ru. The fine is RUB 2.5 million. LG specified recommended retail rates of its products, and the company also used special software for the control of rates applied by retailers. The regulator launched an investigation into the matter a year ago, after earlier also looking at prices from Samsung and Apple.
