Liberty Global could move to acquire O2 Ireland - report

Monday 20 May 2013 | 16:49 CET | News
Liberty Global could move to acquire Telefonica's O2 business in Ireland, reports the Irish Independent. Telefonica is understood to have identified O2 Ireland as an asset that could be sold off to help cut its debt burden. Liberty Global already owns cable operator UPC Ireland. Financial sources told the Sunday Independent that Bank of America Merrill Lynch was actively involved in the process. Mobile operator Three is also believed to be eyeing O2 Ireland subject to pricing.
