Liberty Global extends bid for Ziggo to November

Liberty Global has extended its takeover bid for Dutch cable operator Ziggo until 04 November. The bid was originally expected to end on 10 September. The extension comes as not all conditions of the bid have been met yet, notably a green light from the European Commission. According to recent reports, Liberty Global is preparing concessions such as the possible sale of its premium channel Film1 in order to secure competition approval. The takeover would see Ziggo, the largest cable operator in the Netherlands, merged with Liberty Global's UPC, the number two on the market. The EC has set a
