Liberty Global gets initial bids for Chellomedia - report

European cable operator group Liberty Global is assessing first-round bids for its Chellomedia subsidiary, a collection of 68 international pay TV channels, before a second round of bidding expected to value the business at around USD 1 billion, people briefed on the auction process told the Financial Times. The bids came from US private equity companies and media groups, including Discovery Communications, Scripps Networks Interactive and Turner Broadcasting System, the people said. Liberty Global is present in thirteen countries and will have around EUR 75 million of EBITDA this year. The
