Liberty Global interested in Telecolumbus, telepresence

Tuesday 27 May 2014 | 14:15 CET | News
Liberty Global CEO Mike Fries said in an interview with Borsen-Zeitung that the company has more than USD 8 billion cash and therefore is armed for significant mergers and acquisitions. Fries said the cable giant plans to focus on telepresence services. Fries described Germany as the most important market in Europe and said it would be unlikely to sell its Unitymedia subsidiary to Vodafone. Another purchase in the cable sector would be of interest to Liberty Global, said Fries, as it would to Vodafone.
