Liberty Global invests in YouTube football channel

Liberty Global has invested in Bigballs Media, the owner of a football-themed channel on YouTube. The cable operator invested along with e.ventures a total GBP 7 million for a 14 percent stake in the company, plus an option to increase their stake in six months, the Financial Times reports. London-based Bigballs operates the online channel Copa90, which offers a range of opinion, commentary and infographics about football teams and their fans. CEO Tom Thirwall said the channel had 2.3 million subscribers who watched an average 37 minutes per week each. The investment is seen as a good way to
