Liberty Global, MXC plan new UK IT services company

Liberty Global Europe 2, a subsidiary of TV and broadband company Liberty Global, and technology-focused merchant bank MXC have signed a JV agreement to establish an IT services provider targeting SMB customers in the UK.

The JV, MXLG Acquisitions, will be owned by both parties equally. It will initially seek to make a series of acquisitions to create an enterprise of size and scale and consolidate a fragmented market. The JV will take advantage of Liberty Global's existing network and products. In the UK, the company owns cable operator Virgin Media.
