Liberty Global offers new concessions for Base takeover

Liberty Global has submitted new concessions to the European Commission in order to gain approval for its proposed takeover of mobile operator Base from KPN. Commitments were submitted a second time on 27 October, after an initial proposal in mid-September, according to the European Commission competition authority's website. The EC already opened in early October an in-depth investigation of the takeover, which would see Liberty's subsidiary Telenet acquire Base, the smallest mobile operator in Belgium. The takeover would eliminate a competitor on the market as Telenet is already the largest
