Liberty Global is expanding its with smart home specialist Plume to roll out intelligent Wi-Fi features to all customers across the UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland and Ireland.
An initial set of Plume Smart Home services were made available to Virgin Media customers in the UK in 2019. The new deal will make these intelligent Wi-Fi features available to all customers across Liberty Global's European footprint. They will be integrated with the Connect App and offered to all customers free of charge.
The extended agreement with Plume will also see Liberty Global start rolling out next-generation Mesh WiFi Boosters called WiFi Pods. These pods have been trialled by Virgin customers in the UK and in other European markets, and extend Wi-Fi throughout the home using Plume Adaptive Wi-Fi technology.
