Liberty Media leads bidding for F1 - report

Liberty Media is leading the bidding to acquire the Formula One motor racing series, with a bid of USD 8.5 billion, reports Sky News. The company controlled by John Malone is in detailed talks with F1's controlling shareholder, CVC Capital Partners, about a transaction, according to the UK broadcaster's sources. Chase Carey, the former DirecTV and News Corp executive, could be appointed as chairman of the sport's parent company prior to or alongside a deal, according to people close to the situation.
