Liberty still not sure about Ziggo acquisition

Liberty Global is not yet sure how to structure a cooperation with Ziggo in order to gain the most strategic advantage from its stake in the cable operator, CEO Mike Fries said in a conference call on the UPC owner's quarterly results. While the 28.5 percent stake acquired in Ziggo offers the company strategic opportunities, it was still unclear how these could be realised. Fries also commented on the competitive conditions in the Dutch market, noting that the sharp fall in incumbent KPN's EBITDA shows that UPC made the right choice in raising prices recently.
