Licensed audio streaming up 8% to 45% of consumers - study

Increasing numbers of music consumers across the world are listening through licensed audio streaming services, according to the latest music consumer insight report published by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry's (IFPI). The survey of internet users aged 16-64 in 13 of the world's leading music markets revealed that 45 percent are now using legal audio streaming services, compared to 37 percent in 2016, with 23 percent coming from paid audio streaming and 22 percent from free audio streaming.
