Lifesize agrees merger with Serenova to target UCaaS market

The videoconferencing company Lifesize has agreed to merge with contact centre specialist Serenova. They will create a contact centre communications and workplace collaboration company serving more than 10,000 customers worldwide. Serenova's shareholder Marlin Equity Partners is the financial sponsor of the merger and said it will continue to invest to support the growth of the combined business in the UCaaS market.

The combination targets the growing use of video communications and omnichannel approach in customer service and workplace interactions. In addition, the company will provide customers with global scale and tailored local support through its partner ecosystem in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Craig Malloy, founder and CEO of Lifesize since it was spun off from Logitech in 2015, will serve as CEO of the new company. Serenova CEO John Lynch will assume the role of senior vice president of sales, including strategic oversight of global major accounts.

Marlin Equity Partners, which recently led Serenova’s acquisition of the ProScheduler platform from Loxysoft, will play a key role in the combined company’s go-forward strategy, including supporting acquisitions, product development and partnerships to create a full unified communications portfolio.
