Line's user base jumps by 2 mln during WhatsApp outage

Line Corporation, the operator of the Line call and messaging app, said it clocked up a new daily record of 2 million new users in 24 hours after WhatsApp suffered a network outage over the weekend. During the WhatsApp outage, Line's new daily user registration spiked at a rate of five times more than usual in North America, South America, and Europe. The company says that despite the surge, it did not experience any technical issues.
