Linux Foundation starts new open source project Akraino

The Linux Foundation announced a new open source project, Akraino, intended to create an open source software stack supporting high-availability cloud services optimised for edge computing systems and applications. AT&T is backing the new project with code designed for carrier-scale edge computing applications running in virtual machines and containers to support reliability and performance requirements. The Akraino community, now forming, expects to release its open source project code in the second quarter.
