Lochem looks for FTTH alternatives after CIF delays

Tuesday 7 February 2017 | 11:14 CET | News
The Dutch town of Lochem said it will look for alternatives after CIF said it's slowing its fibre roll-out in the Achterhoek region. Local paper de Stentor cited councilman Jan Kottelenberg as saying that CIF told Lochem and six other municipalities that the operator will decide by September on its roll-out plans. That means they are not likely to be on the list of areas for coverage this year. Lochem is considering two alternatives: a roll-out led by a residents cooperative or grouping together with other towns to attract an investor or provincial support.
