LTE-A networks increase to 64 in 39 countries – GSA

The number of operators to have commercially launched LTE-A (LTE-Advanced) networks worldwide has increased to 64 in 39 countries, according to a new report from Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA). The study revealed that LTE-A deployment has become a major industry trend, with around 116 operators investing in carrier aggregation technology worldwide and around 1 in 6 LTE operators having already commercially launched a service based on LTE-A. The GSA added that most LTE-A system deployments support Category 6 user devices, covering download speeds of 150 Mbps to 300 Mbps and upload
