LTE connections more than double to 498 mln worldwide

4G Americas, a wireless trade association representing the 3GPP family of technologies, today announced that LTE connections more than doubled in 2014, reaching nearly half a billion worldwide, according to data gathered by Ovum for 4G Americas, a wireless trade association representing the 3GPP family of technologies. North America contributed significantly to global LTE connections with 33 percent or 164 million of the total 498 million connections worldwide. Still, in mid-year, the Asia Pacific region passed the US and Canada and took the top spot in terms of total LTE connections. The
