Macra set to construct telecentres in all constituencies

The Malawi Communication Regulatory Authority (Macra) has launched the 'Connect a constituency' project which foresees the construction of Tele-centres in every constituency countrywide, Business Times reported. Each Tele-centre will cost MWK 2.5 million and will have one heavy-duty photocopier, ten computers, a fax machine, binder, scanner and printer. Board chairperson Ted Nandolo said that through Macra, the Ministry of Information intends to construct 23 tele-centres in 2012. Nandolo said materials procurement is already at an advanced stage and materials could be delivered to all sites
