Magallanes to fund fibre connection to underserved towns in southern Chile

Chile's telecommunications watchdog Subtel announced that the local council of the southern Magallanes region has approved funding amounting to CLP 2.76 billion to build last-mile infrastructure connecting homes in 8 underserved localities to the Fibra Optica Austral (FOA) network. The towns set to receiving funding are Porvenir, Cerro Sombrero, San Gregorio, Cameron, Villa Dorotea, Villa Renoval, Villa Tehuelches and Puerto Williams.
