Mail.ru working on new cloud gaming service - report

Russian internet company Mail.ru group is planning to launch a cloud gaming service, reports Kommersant. Gaming services are currently the main driver of the growth of revenues of Mail.ru group amid the declining advertising market.

The service, under the My.Games Cloud brand, should enable users to access more than 300 games. The service will include a free base version, as well as an advanced level with 4K video quality. 

Testing is expected to start this year. The service will be based on servers from Nvidia, with software-hardware designed by Mail.ru Group. It will be based on a a system provided by Russian company Playkey. 

Mail.ru Group rents Nvidia servers from Gfn.ru, a subsidiary of Safmar. 

Revenues from gaming services made up 43 percent of Mail.ru Group's revenues in the second quarter of this year, up by 46 percent year-on-year.
