Mail.ru working on new cloud gaming service - report

Russian internet company Mail.ru group is planning to launch a cloud gaming service, reports Kommersant. Gaming services are currently the main driver of the growth of revenues of Mail.ru group amid the declining advertising market.

The service, under the My.Games Cloud brand, should enable users to access more than 300 games. The service will include a free base version, as well as an advanced level with 4K video quality. 

Testing is expected to start this year. The service will be based on servers from Nvidia, with software-hardware designed by Mail.ru Group. It will be based on a a system provided by Russian company Playkey. 

Mail.ru Group rents Nvidia servers from Gfn.ru, a subsidiary of Safmar. 

Revenues from gaming services made up 43 percent of Mail.ru Group's revenues in the second quarter of this year, up by 46 percent year-on-year.

Global publishers such as Ubisoft, Riot Games, and Funcom are confirmed to be part of the project, which is currently in beta testing on My.Games servers.

Russian internet company Mail.ru Group has launched a new Digital Assistant service aimed at business customers. The service will let staff of companies, and their customers, to quickly find important information stored on the internal services of the company. The Digital Assistant enables communications by voice command as well as through chatting. The service is based on an AI platform.

The cloud service unit of Russian internet company Mail.ru Group has launched a new package of cloud services called Pro, reports Cnews.ru. The package is aimed at professional designers of content, for instance, at photographers, architects, analysts and consulting experts.

Russian video-gaming market advances 14% in 2019 - study

The Russian video-gaming market totaled RUB 120.4 billion in 2019, up by 14 percent year-on-year, according to a study from My.Games, a subsidiary of internet company Mail.ru Group. Mobile games were the main driver of growth last year, rising 49 percent to RUB 48.1 billion. They almost caught up in volume with free games on PC amid the latter's slowing growth, up 5 percent to RUB 49.1 billion.

My.Games offers new revenue split for game developers

Russian internet company Mail.ru Group announced a new offer for developers to distribute their titles via its My.Games Store platform. The new option offers a revenue split of 90/10, where 90 percent of the revenue goes to the developer and 10 percent to the platform. The new revenue split applies to all purchases made via the developer's own advertising campaigns.
