Majority of French not in favour of mobile payments - survey

The majority (59%) of French mobile phone users are opposed to using their mobile phone for making payments, according to a study conducted by Ifop on behalf of Wincor Nixdorf. Mobile payments are accepted by 41 percent percent of the French mobile phone users, 8 percent of whom have a very favourable attitude towards this method of payment. This type of payment service is seen well by 49 percent of men, 34 percent of women, 51 percent of Paris region's inhabitants, 57 percent of people with high incomes, and 54 percent of the users of e-purse services.
