Malawian govt keeps encouraging ISPs to cut data prices

The Malawian government says it will keep engaging Internet Service Providers to consider further reducing their data costs for the benefit of the public, MANA rreported. Principal Secretary for E-Government Francis Bisika said the government is aware that the structure that ISPs use to cut data costs are not benefiting Malawians and therefore it will continue engaging with them on the matter. The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) had directed all telecom operators to lower data prices by 30 percent on 22 April.
