Malone calls for more consolidation of German cable market

Liberty Global chairman John Malone has called for more consolidation within the German cable market. In an interview with German newspaper 'Handelsblatt', Malone said that his company was small compared to Deutsche Telekom and that it needs to grow further to have a nationwide presence. Only then, he added, would the group be able to offer a corresponding TV service. Liberty Global controls Unitymedia and Kabel BW in Germany.
