Manufacturers take lead in smart home market

Manufacturers are taking the lead in the Dutch smart home market to stimulate demand, as consumer awareness and adoption still remains low, according to Telecompaper's latest research report on the smart home market in the Netherlands. While smart home products have been on the market for some time already, they've yet to make a major breakthrough. The number of homes with a smart thermostat is growing, and new products such as the 'smart' vacuum are also reaching Dutch homes. However, the high prices, concerns about security and the wide variety of technology standards are holding back
