Maroc Telecom H1 net profit falls 22%

Maroc Telecom Group reported revenues for the first half down 1 percent from a year earlier to MAD 15.17 billion. The decline was attributed to lower revenues in its home market Morocco, which fell by 5.3 percent due to persistent price cuts in the mobile segment. Net income declined by 22 percent to MAD 3.13 billion, hurt by a restructuring provision and higher taxes in Morocco. Excluding those items, net income fell 4.7 percent to MAD 3.79 billion. The group's customer base was up 13.7 percent year-on-year, to over 31 million, driven by its international business, where the customer base
