MasterCard trials auto top-up PayPass wristband

MasterCard is testing its auto top-up PayPass wristband. Isle of Wight Festival participants can top up their contactless prepaid MasterCard PayPass wristbands. Consumers can access the event or make purchases of GBP 20 or less by tapping their wristbands on readers without the need for a PIN code or a signature. There is also an auto top-up function that loads between GBP 10 and GBP 50 up to three times per day when a wristband balance drops below GBP 20. The maximum total load allowed on any wristband throughout the festival is GBP 500, with any unspent funds getting refunded back to
