Friday 13 April 2018 | 09:24 CET | News
Mauritius has launched the first phase of the Indian Ocean Exchange (IOX) Submarine Cable system project, which will position Mauritius as a technology hub and significantly enhance the development of the country's broadband infrastructure to support and drive the new digital economy. Minister of Technology, Communication and Innovation, Yogida Sawmynaden, said that the system, which is the third submarine cable landing in Mauritius, is conceived as an open access one, to offer opportunities for licensed operators to become providers of high bandwidths on modern infrastructure.
