Measures needed to ensure 100% 50 Mbps coverage - study

The divide between German cities and rural areas with regards to broadband availability is expected to grow in the coming years despite the federal government's efforts to ensure 100 percent coverage of broadband with at least 50 Mbps by 2018, according to a report from Deloitte Germany. Currently around 80 percent of the cities and urbanized areas have access to broadband services with speeds up to 50 Mbps compared to 20 percent coverage in rural Germany.
