Mediaset sells Italian cinema chain to Vue for EUR 105 mln

Italian broadcaster Mediaset and 21 Investimenti have announced the sale of their cinema chain The Space Cinema to the UK's Vue Entertainment International for EUR 105 million. The Space Cinema was created in 2009 and controls more than 20 percent of the Italian cinema market through its 36 multiplexes. Annual revenues have doubled over the past five years to around EUR 170 million thanks partly to a partnership with Universal.
