
Russian mobile operator Megafon has launched its new backbone line connecting Moscow and Frankfurt, reports Comnews.ru. The length of the line is 3,200 kilometres, with a capacity of 1.7 Gbps. The operator has also built a new telecommunications node in Warsaw.
The new backbone has enabled the operator to raise traffic by 15-25 percent for almost all of its services. Megafon plans to strengthen its positions on the market for European-Asian transit.
