Metroweb extends letter of intent with Wind, Vodafone

Italian broadband provider Metroweb has extended its non-binding letter of intent with Vodafone Italia and Wind until the end of March, reports Milano Finanza. The letter, which expired on 29 February concerns the rollout of a national fibre-optic network via a new vehicle called Metroweb Sviluppo (Metroweb Development). According to the report, Metroweb is increasingly open to the possibility of teaming up with the two operators because of concerns about whether its EUR 2.5 billion plan with Telecom Italia to bring fibre-optic broadband technology to 250 Italian cities will be approved by
