Mexican association wants Virgin Mobile permits checked

The Independent Telecommunications Association of Mexico (ATIM) has requested that the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) check whether Virgin Mobile has missed the deadline established in its license to start operations as a MVNO in Mexico. The vice president of ATIM, Solomon Padilla, pointed out in an interview for El Financiero that Virgin Mobile had 180 days to start operations, and in theory the operator's could request a single extension for the same period, but it is still not providing services. Virgin Mobile was issued a license in 2011 by the Federal Telecommunications
