Mexico consults on free use of 6 GHz band for Wi-Fi

Mexican telecommunications regulator IFT has followed moves by Argentina, Chile and Brazil, among other countries, with the launch of a public consultation on classifying the 6 GHz band as free spectrum. In a statement the watchdog said the consultation lasting until 24 June aims to seek views from interested parties on a preliminary draft to classify the 5,925-7,125MHz (6GHz) band as licence-free spectrum for applications such as Wi-Fi 6E.
