Mexico may create state agency if wholesale fibre tender declared void

The Mexican government may be forced to go it alone and create a state agency to guarantee nationwide internet coverage if its Red Troncal fibre tender is declared void, reports news agency Notimex, citing president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. In a press conference, the president said lack of interest from national or international bidders wouldn't necessarily spell the end of the project.
