Mexico orders operator service outlets to stay open during coronavirus epidemic

Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has ordered the country's operators to continue offering customers services via online, telephone as well as physical channels in spite of the health crisis unleashed by the coronavirus epidemic. In a statement citing a recent presidential decree, the watchdog said operators including Telcel (America Movil), AT&T and Movistar (Telefonica) need to ensure sales outlets remain open to give users all possible alternatives to resolve issues in view of the key role of public telecommunications services in areas such as information, education and
