Mexico publishes draft bases for MXN 30 bln 'Red Troncal' fibre tender

Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has published the draft conditions for a tender of 50,000km of its dark fibre to be used as the basis for a wholesale fibre-optic network (Red Troncal). The aim is to auction the fibre in the form of two high-speed strands of cable belonging to the state-owned utility to connect digital divide territories all over the country. The winning national or international bidder will need to activate at least 70 percent of the coverage within 2 years and provide public services with free internet access parks, hospitals, schools, squares, town halls and
