Mexico targeting 95% internet coverage by 2024

The Mexican government has announced plans to increase internet coverage from the figure of 87 percent reached at the end of 2018 to 95 percent of the country before the six-year term of president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador ends in 2024, reports news agency Notimex. Under the government's National Development Plan 2019-24, special emphasis will be given to digital divide areas so that all people, above all those in a vulnerable situation, can have access to new technologies and digital skills. The four states with the lowest proportion of internet users in urban areas are currently Chiapas,
