Mexico telecom investment up 23% to MXN 72 bln in 2019

Mexico's telecommunications operators invested some MXN 71.9 billion (around USD 3.3 billion) in rolling out infrastructure in 2019, around 23 percent more than the previous year, according to a report from regulator IFT. Taking into account non-tangible assets, the total amount invested was MXN 113.4 billion, up 46.7 percent year on year, said the watchdog. Total operator revenues grew 7.5 percent year on year to MXN 592 billion in the final quarter of 2019, compared to a 0.5 percent fall in Mexico's GDP.
